Circus
segunda-feira, 21 de dezembro de 2009 { 18:53 }

Have you ever felt guilty? Let me write this a different way…have you ever felt joyful, fulfilled and as happy as a human being can be and, in the end of it, those combined feelings turning into regret and shame? That was basically my day today.

All those animals, so adorable on stage, performing in front of a medium crowd just blinded my mind until the moment I’m writing this. As wonderful as it might have been, knowing that so many of them are tortured behind the stage just makes me imagine what was happening behind the cheerful red curtain that hid all the cages. Of course I could be wrong, I AM human, you know…but the percentage of episodes like those, happening in so well known circus is so high, that sometimes I just, like they say, judge the book by its cover.

I seriously just hope I’m wrong…

Taking all of those daily thoughts away, it was a really rewarding day after months studying and making reports. My most favorite part was when I took the picture with the baby lion (poor thing seemed so scared…), one of the next kings of the jungle. Who would thought that that cute little thing in a few months can just rip you head off?
